April 13, 2012

TEXPAC, the political advocacy arm of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), today announced its endorsement of Representative J.M. Lozano for re-election to the Texas House, District 43.

“TEXPAC is enthusiastically supporting Representative Lozano’s re-election campaign. As the son of a doctor, J.M. understands the needs of the medical community and small business owners. We look forward to continuing our work with J.M. to improve health care access, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency in Texas,” said Joe Todd, MD, chair of the TEXPAC Board of Directors.

“I am honored to have the endorsement of doctors along the Coastal Bend and throughout the state who keep our communities healthy and provide employment to thousands of Texans,” Lozano said. “Growing up in a family of medical professionals, I have a great respect for physicians and will continue to support their efforts on behalf of patients.”

Other recent endorsements garnered by the Lozano campaign include Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, the Texas Association of Realtors, and the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

TEXPAC speaks on behalf of nearly 45,000 Texas physicians and medial students, and nearly 8,000 alliance members. Organized in 1962, TEXPAC is one of the oldest political action committees in Texas. TEXPAC also is one of the largest bipartisan PACs in the state and ranks first in size among other state medical association PACs.

Representative Lozano is serving his first term as State Representative for House District 43. He is the successful business owner of three Wingstop restaurants and is active in the Kingsville Economic Development Council, the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club, and Lions Club. J.M. and his wife Abby are the proud parents of three young children.
